Without Server, Tally keeps its data in a shared Windows folder, and requests from every PC wait their turn there. The more people in Tally, the longer the wait, most of all when someone opens the company or takes a backup.

Questions

How many people can use it at once?

The licence has no user limit. In practice one server carries about 100 to 150 people working at the same moment.

How many remote users does it allow?

Thirty. A TallyPrime Gold licence gives you 10 remote users, and Server adds 20 more.

Is there a renewal or subscription?

No. You pay for the Server licence once.

What does it need to run?

No new hardware. Server installs on the computer where your TallyPrime data is kept now. That computer needs to stay on while the business is open. You also need a TallyPrime Gold licence.

Does Server put Tally on the cloud?

No, and Tally says so. Server is for many people in one office. For people working from other places, or on a Mac, see TallyPrime Cloud Access.

Can I use it with a Silver licence?

No. Server works only with TallyPrime Gold.
