What Tally customization is

A TDL (Tally Definition Language) file adds to Tally: a report on a menu, a field on a voucher, an invoice format, a check that stops a wrong entry being saved. It runs on the company you already have, so nothing is migrated. It comes three ways:

Tally customization written for you

When nothing here fits, we write the TDL for you: a report in the shape your directors read, a field Tally doesn't have, the invoice format a customer asks for, a check that stops a mistake at entry. Written work is quoted per job, once you have described it: the same request can be half a day for one business and three weeks for another.

  1. You describe itWhat Tally will not do
  2. We ask how you workHow your company is set up
  3. Fixed quoteBefore anything starts
  4. Written and testedOn a copy of your company
  5. DeployedAgainst your Tally licence

Tally customization questions

What happens when Tally releases a new version?

Most add-ons carry on untouched; some need recompiling. Before amajor upgrade we test them against the new release on a copy, not on the live company.

What do you need from me to deploy it?

A valid Tally serial number. The customisation is deployed against your licence, so it has to be a genuine one.

Customization or integration?

Customisation changes what Tally does. Moving data between Tally and another system isintegration, a different job.
