Questions
Is TSS compulsory?
No. Your licence keeps working without it. Above ₹5 crore annual turnover e-invoices become mandatory, and generating them from inside TallyPrime needs TSS.
Do I lose the days I have left if I renew early?
No. The new term starts from your current expiry date, not from the day you renew. Renewing early costs nothing and adds the free month.
Is there a grace period?
No. Renew before the expiry date to get the free month. Once TSS expires, its services stop that day.
What happens to TallyDrive when TSS lapses?
Access stops the same day. Your data is kept for 90 days, then Tally stops promising to keep it. Tally's wording: “TallyDrive works only with an active TSS subscription. Without TSS, access stops and your data stays stored for only 90 days.” If TallyDrive is your only backup, take a local copy before TSS expires.
How much TallyDrive storage comes with TSS?
1 GB with Silver and 3 GB with Gold, while TSS is active. Extra storage starts at ₹1,200 a year for 10 GB + GST.
Is TSS the same as an AMC?
No. TSS is bought from Tally and keeps the connected services and upgrades running. An AMC is bought from us and pays for our engineers' time: installation, data care, configuration and training. What an AMC covers, and what it does not.
My TSS has already lapsed. Can I still renew?
Yes. Renew any time and the services come back on. What is lost is the free month, which needs a renewal before expiry, and any TallyDrive data once 90 days have passed since expiry.
